Giving Recognition

Posted in Notes on January 20, 2010 by Bugsy Hansen

Its been far to long since we have updated the Dolphin Blog, immediatly after our website finally went live our intention was to both:

1) Promote our site!

2) Give recognition to the people who worked so hard to make it happen.

Its time to rectify that situation.

Our website was designed from the ground up with the help of two fantastic people who I met in the Houston area.  They were able to sift through my emails and phone calls and determine what I was looking for.  They were able to take the graphic work that I would do, the pictures that I would take and everything else I did to help and encourage and, in turn, filter out the bad and concentrate on the good and make a great website.

Alexandra Schmidt and Tab Atkins, who don’t even have their own site yet, worked tirelessly and dealt with my occasional ignorance.   For the people out there who may be looking to have a site designed or even have upkeep done on their current sites, by all means, email them and I am sure they would be happy the help. Email Address

Our logo was also redone.  An old friend of mine, Bryon Black, who I met many many years ago in Minocqua, WI while I skied in my early years for the Min-Aqua Bat waterski team.  You can see some of his art work, HERE, or click over to his company, 3b Creative, HERE and get more information.

Of note:  If you look through our website you will notice a barefoot suit and a show suit/jump suit with the name Bat BS or Bat SS.  This is because we designed and built for the Min-Aqua Bats their new wetsuits.  We really liked the clean, stylish look of the suits and decided to put that into our regular rotation!

Anyways, please visit these guys websites or shoot them emails if you are looking for either art work or web work.  They really are fantastic, easy to talk to and do wonderful work.

Almost there!!

Posted in Notes on November 22, 2009 by Bugsy Hansen

Its been over a year, but, we are almost finally maybe ready for our new website to go live! We have had a few false starts, a couple delay of game penalties and even a false start!

However, to keep stretching our football analogy, we have kept working, studying our playbook and are almost ready to go!!!

We are now aiming for Monday, 11/23/2009 for the site to go live. Along the way, we had a flash of inspiration, in which we decided to build a completely new “Custom” page. A page where you can, basically, build your own wetsuit from scratch, start to finish, this has caused numerous headaches, late nights and I am sure a bunch of frustrated outbursts from our web designers.

Sorry guys!!

We hope, however, that it will all be worth it. So, stay tuned.

Welcome to the New Dolphin Wetsuits!

Posted in Company News on November 7, 2008 by Bugsy Hansen

dolphin-logoWelcome and thank you for stopping by!  Please, pull up a chair and get comfortable!

My name is Bugsy Hansen, I am the owner and president of the new Dolphin Wetsuits, a company steeped in tradition, a tradition and a history that is really unlike any other.

This site is here to welcome you to Dolphin Wetsuits prior to us, and our website, going live.

Dolphin Wetsuits, throughout the years, has made it our business and have taken pride in supplying the best quality watersports gear to all water sport enthusiasts.  From developing and perfecting the Flo-Mo Jacket, a Dolphin Original, to the Die-Sublimation Graphic Process to our exceptional customer service pioneer by the companies founder, Joanne Miller, we seek to expand the boundaries of what is expected.

Joanne Miller founded Dolphin Wetsuits over 20 years ago with the singular desire to provide the best Wetsuits available.  She spent time overseas studying various wetsuit building techniques, spent countless hours experimenting and testing various styles and construction techniques, anything she could think of and do to bring the best quality wetsuits to market.

Throughout the years Joanne worked tirelessly to design and create top-quality wetsuits and jackets, always remembering that the customer comes first and doing whatever it took to make sure that you were happy!

Joanne, along with her husband Chip, carried that banner for years and years until early 2008 when the decision was made for someone else to carry that torch.

Our goal is to continue the founding goals and ideals of Dolphin Wetsuits, the founding beliefs that made Dolphin what it is, while looking to build upon these foundations of strength to continue to produce the highest quality, innovative, stylish and functional wetsuits, jackets, heater shirts….well, the limits are only as wide and high as your imagination!!!!

The Dolphin Blog will then migrate into our new website and we will continue to communicate directly with you in the form of Blog Posts, Podcasts, Video Podcasts, interactive opportunities and special events.

Our goal, as stated above, is to be a new sort of company, a fresh perspective in your interactions with YOUR wetsuit company.  An organic way in which we operate and within that realm, providing you the best way that we know how, the best possible products to you to make your time on the water the best that they can be.

Thank you so much for taking time for us, trust us, it will be worth it.

Regards and Dolphin Love,
